Je fabrique chaque CD de bout en bout, dans mon appartement. J'ai enregistré la musique dans notre salon, dessiné la pochette sur le balcon, et j'imprime les CDs dans la chambre d'amis! Chaque CD contient aussi un livret de remerciements sérigraphié.
Plus qu'un simple CD, c'est un objet artisanal. Chaque exemplaire de cette seconde édition est numéroté de 1 à 200.

Screenprinted original CD edition of my EP.
Each of these discs are elaborated end to end in my appartment. I recorded the music in our living room, designed the cover on the balcony, and I print the CDs in the guest room! Each CD also includes a screenprinted notes with credits and thank you.
More than a simple compact disc, I tried to designed this as an artesanal object. Each one is numbered from 1 to 200.

Et donc, la sérigraphie, ce n’est pas SI facile que ça. Nous avons eu quelques… rebuts de fabrication : quelques mots qui manquent, de l’encre qui bavouille, des couleurs imprévues. Et comme nous voulons que chaque disque soit magnifique, nous ne voulions pas les vendre.
Et puis on s’est dit quand même, la musique est la même, et jeter ces pochettes… Quel gaspillage. Que pouvions-nous faire avec ? Est ce que certains seraient heureux de recevoir ces disques malgré tout?
Donc nous avons décidé que plutôt que les jeter, nous vous les offririons. Ces disques ne sont pas numérotés, ils ont des défauts mineurs, mais chacun contient la même musique en bonne qualité, et autant d’amour a été mis dans la conception de chacun. Le prix ici correspond simplement aux frais de port.
Jetez un œil aux photos pour voir les défauts de fabrication dont nous parlons ! Et voyez si vous pouvez aimer ces vilains petits canards malgré tout :).

So, as it turns out, handprinting is not THAT easy. We’ve got a few cd covers mixed up: a few words missing, a small ink spill, poorly-chosen colors. And as we want you to get the best disc you deserve, we figured, we wouldn’t sell then.
But then we figured, the MUSIC on the discs is the same. And throwing away discs for a few mistakes seemed… sad. So we figured, what could we do with it? Would some people be happy to get these?
So we decided instead of throwing them away, we could offer them to you. These discs are not numbered, they have small defects, but each of them has the same music, and the same love went into their conceptions. The price tag here is basically just the shipping, to get these discs to you.
Check out the pictures to see the kind of detects we’re talking about! And see if you feel like you could still love them :-).

J’ai écrit cette chanson il y a 4 ans, après la mort de mon père, victime d’une longue maladie du coeur. A cette époque, la perte de mon père était encore une blessure à vif, et cette chanson m’a grandement aidé à en guérir. Dans ces mots, j’exprime tout ce que je n’avais jamais osé lui dire avant, notamment ce besoin de l’entendre dire : «Je suis fier de toi ma fille». Mon père n’était pas vraiment le genre de personne à dire ce qu’il ressentait, et je lui en ai longtemps voulu. Ce n’est pas facile d’assumer ce sentiment, et le l’exprimer. Alors je l’ai fait en chanson. Aujourd’hui, je ne la chante plus de la même manière qu’il y a 4 ans. La rage et la rancoeur ont disparus, reste une tristesse apaisée. Peut-être parce que cette peur était avant tout une peur de ne pas être fière de moi-même.
